Vikram,

All is not lost, you are now in the unique position to test the mirror you 
purchased, and report back to the list on your findings!   Afterwards, you now 
have a handy blank to re-grind and polish into a usable mirror.  (an 8" f/3.7 is 
a little short without additional optical elements to correct for the extreme 
coma)

If your not intererested in testing the mirror, perhaps we could split the 
shipping costs and I'd test it for you.  My interest in testing the mirror is 
just pure curiosity :)
