Fwd: [ATM] GEM 8" mirror Mount

1. Make sure everything is clean, clean, clean
2. Set up spacers of 3 nails or 3 stacks of 2 pennies each. The nails are
easier to pull out.
3. Buy a new tube of silicone -- don't chance it to something that's been
sitting around.
4. Squeeze out 3 US quarter sized (20mm dia) blobs and plop the mirror on
top of it. I think the proper radius is about 40% of the way out from the
center.
5. Don't touch it for 24 hours.
6. If you are really worried about the mirror falling out, you can make
safety clips that don't touch the mirror.

There are many people who have successfully glued much larger, heavier
mirrors, so you can rest assured.
