It all depends on the application and how much precision is required. 
Assuming you're building an equatorial platform for visual use only, 
periodic error would not be noticeable and fuel line hose to connect the 
two shafts together would be acceptable. I'd drill a 3/16" hole in a 
piece of 3/8"aluminum rod and squeeze that onto the motor shaft with a 
vise to clamp the flat. Then use 3/8" hose to couple the two shafts.
