I meant to say cosmic rays and not comic rays :-)  John Dobson did mention
that he was going back to solid insulated tube (cork lined Sonotube) from an
open truss. His belief was that open truss has thermal problems. Dobson has
a way of ruffling feathers, questioning accepted religious dogma. like the
big bang theory.



Groucho: "Now, here is a little peninsula, and here is a viaduct leading
over to the mainland."

Chico: "Vy a duck?"

Groucho: (pause) "...I'm alright, How are you?... I say, here is a
peninsula, and here is a viaduct leading over to the mainland."

Chico: "Alright. Vy a duck?"

Groucho: "I'm not playing 'Ask Me Another.' I say that's a viaduct."

Chico: "Alright! Vy a duck? That's-a what I ... Vy a duck? Vy-a no chicken?"

Groucho: "Well... I dunno why-a no chicken -- I'm a stranger here, myself.
All I know is that it's a viaduct. You try to cross over there a chicken and
you'll find out why a duck..."
