An easier method is, take the freshly cast tool outside to a rough 
surface concrete driveway, sidewalk or patio.  run a little water from a 
hose, and grind the back of the tool flat against the concrete.  Then 
tip it on edge to bevel the rear corner.  The plaster dust will wash 
away in the next heavy rain.  It is non toxic, so no worrys about 
leaving the dust out in the open.
