[ATM] A Thank You to Don Clement on Compliant Hinges!
Don, Thank You! Metallic compliant hinges are AMAZING!
I'm spending a little of my own venture capital / labor on building a 16"
Bino-scope. One of the problems is how to do the fine inter optical collimation
'trick'
A few weeks ago I saw your post on compliant hinges and it got me to thinking.
Today I realized just how AMAZING they are! Talk about allowing only 1 degree
of freedom, and COMPLETE constraint of the remaining 5 degrees of freedom! I
can't think of any other hinge idea that could even come close to accomplishing
such a feat!
So Don, Thank you! :)
Now all that's left is EVERYTHING, and hope fully soon I'll be sending a Thank
You to Mel Bartels for his "Tri-Dob" Alt / Az Idea!
Oh, and if pictures are worth a thousand words, here a short story:

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. "
