RE: [ATM] Best books on mirror making

It is also why I am seeking, but right now can't afford to buy, a pre-World
War I set of encyclopedias.

I have two encyclopedia sets from the '50s and a set from 1937 (between the
'Wars'; Hitler was still a good guy, but some people had doubts, ...) It is
amazing to read current references and then cross check details against the
older editions. I guess that makes me a subversive, to be targeted by the
thought police (Now authorized by the parts of the patriot act that they
don't talk about loudly.)

Which is why I preferred to speak with Russian speaking engineers,
mathematicians, etc....their thinking and speech was easy for me to
understand. Facts, reason, logic, conclusions. With politicians or high
ranking folks in the Uzbek Ministry of Defense...it was another matter
entirely. It was like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall.
