Re: [ATM] re; Best book to learn mirror making

I made my first mirror at 15 years old, working by myself. Most people,
I'm sure could do the same. I think the mirror turned out pretty well, I
still have it.
I went to the library and got all the atm books I could get, Tex, Howard,
Thompson, the three book bible...and read them all carefully. I think
that's the best way if you're by yourself. All the books have faults.
Everybody has their own way of doing stuff. I think you oughta see what
everybody is doing and find your own way of doing things. If it works for
you, then it's a good way.
Nowadays, folks get a lot of info out of the net. It's good to have at
least one book to read for an overall intoduction and a resource to look
back on. I'd probably choose Tex, but the others are good too.
I got the LeClaire book recently. It's got some really nice stuff in it
but I agree with someone on the list that said it seemed like it was
written in a hurry. I think a second edition could be really good. For an
introduction, Tex is better.
