Re: [ATM] re; Best book to learn mirror making
I would suggest that you buy that three volume set and BURN it to keep it
out of the hands of some innocent fool. Keep in mind that when that when
many of those papers were written, the hit song was "Horst Wessel Lied", and
one did not question authority in those times. Yes, the eleventh
commandment: "Thou shalt not question."

Hi Justin:
May I suggest that you have a look at the three book series - - -
Amateur Telescope Making - - - it has everything in it to get you on your
way to making a decent telescope. It is available from Willman bell as are
all the grits etc you will need to get started. I built my first 8 inch with
nothing more than this series and a local optician to suggest grits, laps,
and finishing.
More modern publications tend to take a lot for granted re: prior
knowledge. I haven't read Dobson's book but I understand from comments made
that it might have a treatment of basic mirror making including thin mirrors
from plate glass.
