[ATM] hyperbola

Hello everyone

My name is David Williams and I'm the one with the 20" mirror, F5, 1 inch thick, and the sonotube 25 inch diameter, and as I've said before there was a problem with the flexibility in my sonotube. But this problem is no more. I've put ring stiffeners in the tube (about 10 of them) and three longitudenal stiffeners and drilled holes and bolted all them together. This made the tube really stiff. Thank you every body for your advice.

Now besides the mount and the tube; there is the problem with getting the mirror in the right shape. My friend Jerry told me that the mirror was hyperbolic and I agreed with him. Because after all, I've been polishing most of the time, well all of the time with a sub diameter tool with the tool on top. Does anyone think that this is the problem? And a hyperbolic mirror is one that has a steep curve in it, like a deeper whole in it than a parabola. Isn't this right?

Jerry said that I should use my full size tool and pour a lap with it. And polish with it. Is this the right thing to do?

Thank you all.
David
Bye
