[ATM] re: How hot is your scope
I don't know why you would select CF as a fibre and still want flexibility.
The CF I used was prepreg with a "B" stage epoxy. I had a demonstration
strip 1/8 thick and 1 inch wide, 6 inches long. I would put about 1 inch in
a heavy vise and swing with all my might at it with a two pound hammer
taking care not to hurt myself when the hammer rebounded off the unbroken
strip. If you are looking for a composite that has flex, CF isn't the answer
unless it is made in extremely thin sections. Fiberglas has a reasonable
rigidity with a weight surcharge, Kevlar is even more flexible, but it works
better as a prepregnated material and is a bit lighter than fibreglass.
