Hi folks,

Here is the progress report on my 12" that was giving me such uphill. I
made a full sized and after 45minutes of TOT and then 15 minutes of MOT
I was left with a fairly spherical mirror with a small TDE. I did two
lots of twice round the mirror with my thumb to remove the TDE and then
figured using wide W strokes with MOT for a couple of sessions (30
minutes in total). The edge is great (my best ever) there is a bright
diffraction ring right round the mirror when testing and the ronchi
lines are straight to the edge. I did two time round the mirror with the
6" tool to reduce the edge slightly (I knew this worked from my revious
experience!!!)To parabolise the edge a little more.

I briefly star tested last night, but the seeing was terrible. It looks
however that I am at about 1/4 wave so far. Still a little
undercorrected. It really is great to get back from where I was. With
all the extra polishing the mirror really does have a SUPERB polish!

Thanks all for your help. Will post pics of the finished scope on a
website. It's all aluminium, crayford focuser and uses the flex rocker
design that is fast becoming popular.
