If you have access to a lathe and are going to turn
your own circles, You can use "Tape Measure" inserts
as your scales. I made a few sets this way and they
came out excellent. If you get metric scales, you'll
have Hours and tenths on the RA axis and full degrees
on the DEC axis. Simply adjust the diameter of your
dials so that the start and end line up properly. You
can even get fancy and "indent" a channel for the tape
to set into so that the edge of the scale is flush
with the rim of the dial... That's what I did on mine.
