[ATM] aesthetic scales?

Hi all,
   I'm just thinking about some finishing touches on my first
telescope, and I was wondering if anyone had some practical, yet
aesthically pleasing, methods of putting scales on the RA and Dec
axis? I'd be mounting them on 10" and 6" diamter disks respectively.
Right now I'm considering printing out a simple scale on photo glossy
paper and attaching it with a spray adhesive and covering it with a
lacquer.

  I'm not 100% satisfied with this method, although it's okay. I
thought that maybe some creative person on the list had come up with
something better...

ps. I also have a latitude adjustment that needs a scale (on a ~2"
radius - for a 1/4 of a circle), but I imagine a good solution for the
RA/Dec would also apply to this as well.
