When figuring an overcorrected mirror, there is no need to go back to the 
sphere, since the sphere is on the "other side" of a parabola.  Just do 
short full-lap COC spells and keep testing to see if you've gotten close to 
the promised land.

By the way, Brent, did you get such a fearsome hyperbola grinding on your 
spindle?  Might be something to think about.
