I think this is better solution than other lists have.
Why?
I  easily remember single atm list address and fill it in the TO field
when I wish to send the mail to the list
( especially with auto finish facility i.e. "Automatically complete e-mail
addresses" option
which in this case requires from me only atm@a and the rest is done by Bill
Gates),

 In the other cases, when  I  reply to the sender only,
 it is easier (for me) to click REPLY than to search for, and fill in,
the senders address which is different for each individual,
as will be required if REPLY will be set for"replying to the list".

I vote for Ken's solution and argument that "all other lists" do differently
is poor kind of argument (in general and) in this particular case (in my
opinion).
