RE: [ATM] ATM List Server Configuration

I was in charge of a list server that ran over 100 lists. I would
frequently get calls from users who wanted to retract a message that was
sent to the list when an individual reply was intended. Of course, I had to
say it was too late. In some cases, the result was embarrassing to several
concerned.

There are two ways to avoid this situation. They both involve user action.
The ATM list has chosen the easier way that only requires the user to choose
between the Reply button (to send to the originator) or the Reply All button
(to send to the whole list). The other way is for the list server to
receive a message (original or reply), send a confirmation request back to
the sender, and wait for the sender to reply with an OK.

I am assuming that most email programs have a Reply All button to make this
choice easy.
