Dominic-Luc,  That's because the Mak corrector has a shape that could be
a "shape charge", explosive that is formed similar to the corrector to
provide millions of PSI in one direction when detonated.  Its what makes
armor piercing rockets work.

I had a similar experience with airport security in Los Angeles, in 1984
prior to the Olympics.  I was carring an electronics tool kit as part of
my job.  The agent wanted to make sure the flashlight worked.  I
commented that with all the gear in that case, if I couldn't wire up the
flashlight to work under a simple on-off test, I wasn't much of a
technician.   BRAAAAACK!!!!!.....wrong comment.  They went through
everything I had for the next hour.
