Re: [ATM] RE: RTV Silicone question

I have a secondary held to PVC with Silicone - and the PVC bonded to aluminium, also with silicone. It's been there for nearly 4 years now.

The PVC is a short piece of water pipe, 42mm in diameter with a wall thickenss of about 2mm. One end is cut at right angles and glued on its edge to the aluminium disk, the other end is cut at 45 degrees and the secondary is attached at three places on the edge. This lot has been at the top of the OTA - in tension - ever since I made it.

The only preparation was that I degreased everything with surgical spirit. I used the Dow Corning Aquarium sealant.

My only defense is that it never ocurred to me that there was anything that Silicone didn't stick to.
