Since last night I have had more time to think. Plastic film or foil was the
first thing that came to mind but it may not be the best. Even the best film
is bound to have imperfections, even a few microns, which could cause a
minute bulge in thin film. Now if instead of film one was to use a soft
flexable well made material say a centimeter or two thick, and with the same
'few micron' variation of thickness, that variation would have little effect
because it is such a small percentage of the thickness of the thicker
material.
Also, to mount it you would need two well made flanges that would lightly
clamp it like meet in a sandwich, without any stretching, then a small
extractor fan would be sufficient to create the small sag needed.
.........hummm now those flanges may need to be slightly bevelled to line up
with the sag. to avoid a turned edge. Hay I'd better quit before this
gets complicated.
