Practical, yes, but a small mirror doesn't need so
much work.

Yes, but don't bother with tiles.  A 6" mirror is easy
enough to push around.  When you get inito large
mirrors that are as deep as salad bowls, tiles become
the only way to go.

If you're making a tile tool to practice making one,
get a big blank to apply the practice labor.

Beat the snot out of that 6 inch grinding tool, and
then make a tile-plaster tool to make a second
telescope from the plate glass tool that came with the
kit.  Have fun with it.

I hate to assume, but the WB came with a plate glass
grinding tool?  That one piece of glass will be all
you'll need from start to finish.
