ATM Fringe Analysis Software

Greetings,

I've recently completed a fringe analysis tool called FringeXP. It is supplied as freeware and can be found at:

http://www.ceravolo.com/fringe/index.htm

It allows the user to load interferograms, auto-trace, edit and optimize fringe point locations, and then analyze the mirror or optical system. It's reasonably simple to understand and use. Even if you don't plan on building an interferometer, you might enjoy giving it a try. There are sample interferograms from James Lerch available for this purpose.

I had a great deal of excellent help, advice and testing during the development of this program. I'd like to extend my warmest thanks to Peter Smith, James Lerch, Vladimir Galogaza, Steve Koehler, Mark Suchting and Mike Peck. Also, Peter Ceravolo was kind enough to offer space on his website for this project.

I hope that this tool motivates a few amateurs to put together their own interferometer.

Best regards,
Dave Rowe
