The CCD chips that were used in Berry's Cookbook camera are all obselete
parts now.  There are other chips now that do the job as well, if not better
than the old ones did but unfortunately, they need to be driven differently
with the hardware and the software (which runs on a PC) needs to have
different values in certain locations in order to run the newer chips.
Unfortunately, the software's source code never was released so that others
could use its base for other chips.
There are several other projects using some more modern chips like the Kodak
ones, one in France called Audine and an American one noted in another post.
Either of thoes cameras will work a lot better as they have higher
resolution.
I might also note that there are a number of webcams that can be used for
astroimaging and there is a group with an email list called QCUIAG and they
have all kinds of interesting stuff available for the webcams.
