There was a Toshimi Taki´ with to star alingment method  (and coord
convertion ) for EQ and Alt -az mount at
http://www.davidditch.com/astro/taki/ for Palm pilot.
but it seems to be down now.If you want I can send you a copy but I Dont
remerber if it was shareware or freeware I downloaded it sometime ago to
test it at my PC running a Palm  emulator.
Sources in qbasic for taki´s method are in S&T software downloads and a
reference to them in Taki´s pages.
If cant post you source library implemetantion in plain C,If you use free
PalmOs SDK it would be easy to make your own tool
