If you're trying to make a lightsource for reading by, you really want a
wide angle source of even illumination. You won't get that with a good,
focused optical system.
If you do want a good concave surface, a small planoconcave lens will
provide the base for that. In addition, there are places that make
reflectors for things like flashlights and so forth in plastic. You can
usually get a sample from them for nothing but the begging if you work it
right.
