Yep, I had a piece of glass break into 4 pieces heating pitch on top of it.
Apparently I spent too much time heating and not enough time letting things
even out.  Since I had a fair bit of pitch on the glass, I'm not too sure
whether the glass broke of its own accord or from the localized heat from
the pitch.
