That mold works in a different fashion where you pour the pitch into the
mold and then apply it to the base.
The mold that Telescopics sold was a mat with holes in it and you apply it
between the ptich and the mirror.  The pitch came up in the holes and hit
the mirror, making the tops of the pads thus produced compliant with the
glass surface.  You can reapply the mold at any time so desired and heat the
pitch and remake the channels thus produced and immediately start polishing
again as the pitch surface is already mated to the glass.
