You can always make the pitch harder for a while by doing it in a cooler
room. The pitch will flow less under the cooler temps.
I'd more suspect that the balls are more from something that is happening
with the aluminum surface than problems with the pitch. In addition, are
you sure that it isn't the rouge balling up rather than the pitch?
