RE: ATM 8"f/7 astigmatism

No, I have not been polishing because I didn't know if I needed to go back
to grinding.  The shape of the mirror under my slitless tester is radically
different from one axis to another.To be honest, I was a little
dissapointed the test I did this morning only showed 1/8" difference. I
would have expected a much larger difference. I am going to test it again
tonight when I get home from work and see if I can get the pinhole and the
eyepiece closer together.

Does pinhole size have anything to do with the accuracy of this test or
will it just make the two circular images from my mask look sharper.
 I did notice that when I took the mask off I seemed to be imaging the
pinhole itself and not a point source.

 Note:
 I took a piece of alum. foil, put it on the kitchen counter (hard surface)
and pressed the point into the foil, the pin did not go through the foil.
