Re: ATM Cutting plywood circles




Router work needs to be done fast.  Slow travel of the router in such work
is going to cause heating of the wood and thus the burning that you get.
Better to do several levels of cut than to bull through at a slower speed
and get the whole thing at one pass.
Metalworking, by comparison ends up being that the slower you go, the less
heat due to the way that things are being cut.  Letting the cutter set in
one place will cause a little dimple from the relaxation of the cutter
taking a finish cut while in wood, the same action will burn the wood.
