For experimenting, it is easy to add "dummy" vanes at an angle to the normal
ones, thereby making it easier to identify the ones under test.

Are you actually suggesting that one might answer this kind of question by
EXPERIMENTING?   That would be HERESY, as Galileo discovered.

The correct way to answer such questions is to use published authoritative
works and the beliefs of recognized experts!
