Did he suggest a reason why wood would minimize thermal effects? Common sense says it would, but....<G>

I admittedly only vaguely recall seeing some photos of how he glued shingles to a center piece of wood, but I can't recall any means whatsoever of adjusting the secondary for collimation. This must be done - anyone knows how??
