I'd like my next scope to be a little more portable. I'm thinking a 4 or 5
inch mirrored Newt. on a tripod.  I don't see the design of the actual
tripod or "legs" to be a problem.  However I'm really racking my brain for
ideas on that tricky part between the scope and the tripod.

I could just set a rocker box on top for an Alt. Az. type, but right now all
possibilities are open.

I can't really do anything which would require much machining.

So I'm looking for all ideas, info, Web resources, etc. on the making of
tripod mounted telescopes.  This info seems a little sparse on the Web so I
would appreciate whatever you've got.

Thanks

Dave Richardson
