What I've been using is the bottled water bottles, the ones with the
resealable pop top.  I put as much as 50% of the volume of the bottle (for
80 grit mostly, lesser for the finer grits) and then fill about as much with
water.  Shake the bottle to get the grit fluidized and pour out the grit and
water as needed.  The pop top, while it does get contaminated with the grit,
is able to seal the bottle closed when you are done for the day.  The nice
thing is that the bottles are free for the picking up.  Please note that
they do have many different sizes and the ones that I use are the really
small diameter ones of the 1/2 liter size.
