ATM striping and repolishing 4.5 mirror

Hello all.  I constructed a tester last weekend (following suggestions
of several web sites), and had tremendous fun checking out a few odd
mirrors I had laying about.  One, an old 4.5" import, has a donut shaped
figure in the tester.  I am thinking it might be good for me to practice
polishing this thing as a warm up for the 8" I will be grinding soon.  I
suspect I should strip it first.  Any suggestions?
