ATM 8 inch f/11-12 special considerations?

hi all,

I think i may as well build this thing... if i had to regrind i'd probably
go with a new blank as this one has a couple of chips... and i hate to not
use it as my brother worked so hard on it.

I'm building my focault tester to nail down focal lengths/test spherical
but had a couple of questions:

1) will there be any special considerations with a focal length this
long? (outside of balance/storage/transport types of concerns.)

2) could anyone point me to a good simple way to add tracking to this
guy... i am building my mount straight from dobsons plans... his exact
measurements evertyhing the same pretty much. I feel to use this thing at
the high powers i hope it to be capable of i'd almost have to use tracking
or it will get frustrating, especially when sharing views with friends/SO.

I dont really want to computerize at this point, so i would prefer a
simple mechanical/electrical solution. (pointers to nice simple equatorial
platforms etc. would be most helpful!)

Or i suppose if a clock-drive equatorial would be a lot more complex than
a bartels type i may well go that route (assuming it isnt significantly
more expensive to do so.)

thanks,

Steve
