I manage to do that (20" lap on a 25" mirror), but only 30 min at once.
Sweating
and breathing like mad. My barrel, containing 30 cm sand
in the bottom plus the mirror (about 33 kg / 70 lbs?)
are not always stable enough to sustain the effort (have
to help with my foot, ease the effort or, unfortunately, to
add water). One really feels when the  action is useful
(as you said recetnly, this "viscous" impression...).

I take good note of your advices for figuring. It answered
several questions I had not asked yet...
