RE: ATM mirror eyepiece?
It seems to me, strictly on theoretical grounds, that a paraboloid secondary
mirror combined with a paraboloid primary mirror ought to be able to achieve
essentially a perfect image. I haven't done the math in depth, though.

Subject: ATM mirror eyepiece?
I have often wondered if it would be possible to make
a telescope without ANY refractive optics (lens).
Could it be possible to build an eyepiece using two
mirrors (like a cass. telescope) one perforated and
one not which would serve as the lenses usually used
in an eyepiece? The surfaces would no doubt be hard
to figure as a short focal length is desired, and
probably have problems with coma or other off axis
problems, but it would be an interesting problem.
