A different suggestion:
Take one of those plastic mesh bags that onions come in; remove the onions and
labels and any other junk; make one thickness Wash it if needed. Warm up your lap
with a hair dryer until it softens a bit. Put the mesh bag on the lap, then the
mirror on top, then push with much of your weight, straight down, for 5-10
seconds. Take everything off. You get a nice micro-ripple on the lap, and no
scratches. Works great for Jerry Schnall.
