Re: ATM SWITCHING from 18" Dobs to 10"-12" SCT: COMMENTS?
Carl--
I have an 18" Obsession with a Galaxy mirror and a 10" LX-200 SCT. The
18" is vastly superior to the LX for visual--I use the LX for
photography. The dob is no more difficult to transport and set up than
the LX although I do have a sport utility. A 10" SCT is a bulky, heavy
instrument that has to lifted. My dob is designed so that I never have
to pick it up--I use wheelbarrow handles and homemade ramps to move it
around. For visual, it is no contest--go with the dob.
Clear skies, Andy
