Hi Jim and everyone out there,

I agree with Ken Lowther to the fullest. I've never been interested in
Dobsonian telescopes but recently I aquired a used 6-inch
Maksutov-Newtonian including a Dob mount for a really fair price.

Putting out my equatorial is serious work and really not neccessary for
visual observing most of the time; that's what I learned from my
fortunate deal. One could say I discovered quite 'by accident' the
benefits of a Dob mount and to be honest I now use it most of the time!
It's really fun to set up and use, so I recommend to build one in
addition to the equatorial.
