my entire 10" dob is made from MDF.....still holding up after 3 years
with no signs of deterioration, and we don't exactly have a dry climate
here!

...on a related subject, nobody has yet delved into the problem of
poisoning caused by MDF.....in case you are not aware, the formaldehyde
used in MDF can have rather serious side-effects....the best solution
involves masks, dust extractors, and old, well-seasoned MDF.  The older
the better, unless you are one of the few who actually likes hospital
food........
