ATM-removing bad ic's

Hi,
Easy way to remove old IC from PC board is to get a pair of nippers, cut
each pin at the ic body and then heat and remove each pin
individually...goes quickly and takes little heat...saves the board---just
note which end of the old chip has the pin one indicator so you can install
the new with proper orientation.  Solder wick or a sucker will clean out pc
board holes.
