Re: [ATM] lens polishing
The techniques of polishing the lens is just the same for any
other piece of glass. The only problem that you have is that
this little pieece of glass is a lot smaller than what you[re
used to working with.
The easy thing is to put the lens on a tube or rounded end of a
stick and turn it electriclly so that you don't have to worry
about that part. Speeds of about 50rpm or so will be fine. the
pitch lap can very easily be made on the end of another stick and
applied to the lens as it turns. Do be careful to try to balance
the weight on the lens so that all of ti is evenly polished and
things should be fine. The biggest problem will be doing a shape
on the surface other than a sphere.
