Yes it looks like the knife is still part way blocking
the beam because we can still see some of the shadows
on the mirror.  When the knife is completly out of the
beam the mirror will look uniformily bright.

I know you will have difficulty using that small
camera to capture the complete foucault image.  I have
experienced it myself and talked others through it on
the net.  I think what looked like rolled edge and
turned edge probably were caused by the camera and is
not real.  

I would go back to mirror work and not worry about it
too much since youre eye will work better.  I think
the mirror edge will appear rolled as you try to
correct the problem but as you continue it will
improve.  From what I remember you originally had a
hole in the middle you were trying to correct.  The
process of removing that will make the edge roll until
the new curve is complelty put onto the surface.
