Re: [ATM] Powder coaters updated
I recently refurbished my 6 inch Newtonian tube with Krylon Wrinkle Finish on the inside. It produced a very nice, flat-black surface with lots of light-catching wrinkles. Put on several coats to get good wrinkles. I used up the whole can, and that was about right.

Subject: [ATM] Powder coaters updated
I was able to find a concern that engages in powder coating. K&S Powder Coating 22 Commerce St, Poughkeepsie NY -(845) 452-8332 www.kspowdercoating.com They are about 20 miles from my home and right on my way to the court complex
where I do alot of work.
I spoke with the owner, Gary who described the business as his hobby gone awry. I am hoping to try to get away from the office during the week to drop off my tube. He tells me that the maroon color I want is something that he can do. The tube must be clean so he will sand blast it. I did not ask for a price as I suspect that he would be loathe to give one until he sees the job. He has never done a telescope before.
Gary told me that he cannot coat the interior, I will use the Krylon ultra flat black after the exterior is complete. I'll keep the list posted. I'll also try to post something to my You Tube account (foreilly1958) for the list to see.
By the way, if you have not done so, you might enjoy (or not) looking at my optical flat and pitch lap videos on You Tube.
