Sorry about the spelling error.  I'm typing all this blind  and
generally don't proofread the work.  the E( really should have
been EP.
F#WIW, a cam is a fiddly thing to make for focusing.  The slot in
the outer tube needs to be drilled at each end and then the slot
between needs to be sawn and then filed to the right width.  If
you get too wide, that is no real problem as there will just be
some slop in the focusing as you change direction.
The Rack and Pinion foc8user really needs to have a casting made
so that the machining work is minimal and that means that
somebody needs to supply that casting for the world to buy, not
something that will last forever as a supply.
