Re: [ATM] Not quite immaculate

Last week I asked about the possible causes of a flaw on the 10"
Pyrex mirror I had just finished. I didn't mean to drop the
conversation in the middle, but it was quite a week. To those of you
who replied, thanks. You described a number of ways that I might
have skrooditup, and I'll be careful about these several things on
the next figuring job.

Vladimir, you said,

 > I was asking about author of computerized Foucault tester
 > because I know only two and wander if there are more.

It's rude of you to push about a question that I obviously don't want
to answer. I had a number of snide replies in mind, but never mind:
I understand your frustration. Here's the deal: I have not met the
guy who built this Foucault tester, but I hear he likes to be left
alone.  If he wants to join in on the conversation, that's up to him;
and if he doesn't, then I'll let him remain anonymous.

But I know that doesn't help you. Tell you what: the tester I used
is a lot like the one shown at http://lerch.no-ip.com/atm/ If you go
there and click on Robo-Foucault, you'll get a good, illustrated
description of the sort of machine I'm talking about. (It's worth
browsing the rest of that site as well. There's some great stuff.)

Anyway, about my mirror: everybody at the local mirror lab said to
leave it alone. And here on the ATM list,

Jerry said:

 > Leave it alone

And then Mark Cowan said:

 > Leave it alone

Yeah, yeah, I get it, I can take a hint. Guess I'll leave it alone.

Thanks, folks, for your help with this.

Pete
