 America's Freedom Magazine (a publication of the National Rifle
Association) has in the November 2007 issue an article, "Nikon: Optics Are
Our Soul".   Read it critically and you will see statements such as "...the
reason a lens is curved is to allow the light to go through the optic in a
straigtht line, which increases brightness.  If an aspherical lens is used
to enhance edge-to-edge clarity, the ability to gather light is reduced...."

Huh?
