Sorry to take so long to reply but this computer does not have a  
resident Email Client. I broke the screen on the one that does.

Yes this is Comet 17P/Holmes. It was 115 years ago Nov. 6th that it  
last brightened to naked eye visibility and it is showing very well in  
the night sky. It has a periodic orbit of less than eight years but is  
usually a LTO.

A friend from NASA asked me to take the shot for some educational  
material. I am happy to have captured the core so well. It appears  
somewhat reddish, especially in binoculars.

  Next week I have been asked to bring some homemade equipment to a  
School star party as a contrast to the off the self equipment. I will  
provide a 1.5 degree field with a 10inch.
